Overview
On My Own hopes to instill an understanding of the interrelated nature of education, occupation and lifestyle in youth participants.The program includes a curriculum consisting of 5 lessons and a culminating simulation. Lessons prepare youth by educating them about lifestyles and careers, withholdings and paying taxes, and keeping a transaction register. FInally, participants are given a salary and family situation and must navigate one month’s worth of expenses.
