Overview
This project addresses the digital divide by providing internet access to rural residentsThe mobile hotspot lending program is a collaborative effort between University of Tennessee Extension, 6 public libraries in Hancock, Wayne, Polk, Morgan, Grundy and Cannon County as well as 11 elementary schools in Bradley County. The specific objectives are to address the digital divide in rural Tennessee by providing internet access to residents in improving educational attainment, workforce, business and wellness of rural communities. Additionally, the project aims to identify cost-effective and efficient strategies to improve digital connectivity to underserved populations and economically distressed communities in rural Tennessee.
